Wedding Reception Locations – What Are Your Options?

After the solemnity of the wedding, you and your new spouse will want to join your guests and celebrate your new marriage. Your guests will want to greet you and offer you good wishes. All of you will want a place to eat, drink, dance and enjoy each other. A wedding reception is just the place to do all these things.

There are a wide variety of locations available for a wedding reception. You can have the reception in the same location as the wedding (as in the fellowship hall of the church), or you can branch out and have it at a different locale. Often the reception reflects the spirit or theme of the wedding itself. It will all depend on your personal preference.

From outdoor parks to mansion courtyards to your own backyard, there are many options for you if you choose to have this style of celebration.

Another choice favored by many couples is to have their reception in a restaurant or hotel. These locations can be very appealing, since they are often designed in a romantic way, with candles, flowers, and soft music. Often space is available for dancing or other activities you may wish to provide. Many hotels offer live music, and that, in addition to the good food and wine you offer, will allow your guests to relax and have a wonderful time.

Don’t forget to think about the parking issue when planning your reception. Are there enough places for your guests to find spots easily? In addition, you will want to book your reception location well in advance, especially if the location is a popular one.
