July 12, 2009
Displaying wedding centerpieces on the tables are a great way to decorate the room for the wedding reception. There are several fun and colorful ideas you can put together to create a centerpiece that really adds to wedding theme. Depending on your budget and the theme of your wedding, there is a centerpiece that will work out well for you.
Decorative Candles:

If you are going for more of a romantic feel to your wedding reception decor, candles are a great way to go. Candles can be used in a variety of ways as decoration for the tables. The simplest way is to get large pillar candles in the color of your wedding to add to the tables. You can place one or more of these pillars on each table and light them before the reception. For a safer decoration idea with the use of candles, use floating candles. Get a fishbowl and fill with water. Using a floating flower shaped candle, float it in the bowl and light the wick for a beautiful decoration centerpiece.
Balloons:

Using balloons as a wedding centerpiece is not only a colorful idea, but it is also inexpensive for you. Using the colors of your wedding, such as silver and black, match your balloons to the same colors. If you want to use helium-filled balloons, you’ll have to get them arranged the day of the wedding or the day before so that they will not deflate. However, if you blow up them with regular oxygen, these can be made days ahead of time, saving you time and energy. If you decide to use balloons without helium, you’ll have to tie them together, perhaps around a different centerpiece such as a bouquet of flowers. Allow your guests to take the balloons home. The kids always love these kinds of centerpieces to play with.
Mirrors:
Start your centerpiece off by placing a mirror on top of the table. From here, you can do various things. For the two previously mentioned ideas, you can place the mirror underneath each of them. You can also use the mirror in different ways. For example, using wedding themed confetti, sprinkle on top of the mirror. You can also sprinkle rose petals on top of the mirror. The mirror can also be used as a base for places bowls of candy or nuts on top for guests to snack on during the reception.
