Wedding Reception Songs – All The Factors Involved

January 28, 2010

Every couple has their own perception of what is good dance music. At the wedding reception each couple wants to hear music they like, but it’s also important to choose music that everyone likes.

People expect to have a great time at the wedding reception, and it is always an important goal of the bride and groom to provide attendees with an enjoyable experience.

Suggestions, Anyone?

First things first. The worst party situation is one where no one is dancing. To avoid this, it is imperative that couples provide upbeat music that will get guests on the dance floor.

There are some old standards that without contest are crowd favorites. These may include “Don’t Stop til You Get Enough”, or even “Time Will Reveal”. There are even songs that seemingly propel guests out of their seats. Example include “the chicken dance” “YMCA” and the “Macarena”.

The above examples are types of songs that have to be played in order for people of different backgrounds to come together and have a good time!

Wedding Reception Flowers – Set The Perfect Mood

January 21, 2010

The particulars of your wedding, as personal as they are, will be expressed within the paramaters of the whole setting. You will have established an atmosphere, an environment in which beautiful things will happen and loving expressions will be exchanged.

The specifics will show up more clearly within this larger setting. Flowers are a very important way in which you will set the context of your wedding day. They will certainly frame you and the dress you have so carefully chosen. It’s probably best that first of all you set a theme for the wedding.

This is usually one theme that runs through the entire day, but there can even be two themes–one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Perhaps these themes will complement each other, such as an island feel to the flowers at the ceremony and the feel of a particular destination, such as Hawaii, at the reception.

It is possible to fall in love with specific flowers and, having found them, decide on the theme of the wedding based on their colors and places of origin. Often, however, this will just be confusing and lead to a hodge podge of ideas with which you ultimately will not be satisfied. You don’t want to have to compromise your vision for the dream wedding day, so, if possible, decide on the main theme first.

Why Wedding Programs Are So Important

January 14, 2010

More couples are having wedding programs along with their nuptials. It could be something wonderful to inform your guests about what is going to happen in your wedding, and make them acquainted with your wedding party also.

If you decide to make a wedding program, there are several general things you have to be aware of… The first thing to do is to make your plans early – very early! I can’t say enough about how many brides choose to assemble their wedding programs by themselves and take all night long before the wedding working in a frenzy trying to put it together.

And don’t even think about asking the groom to help – do you know any man who can tie a beautiful bow? Either get your programs already made from a printing company (expensive, of course), or schedule a time to do it personally at least several weeks before your nuptials. There are various things you will desire to have in your wedding program.

The Uniqueness of Wedding Ceremony Fans

December 24, 2009

Have you ever heard of wedding ceremony fans? If you haven’t, you surely are behind the times. Wedding ceremonies are no longer the simple affairs they used to be in the olden days. In today’s complex and highly individuated world, people feel a need to stand out from the crowd and do things in their own way. This quest for novelty and innovation is felt even by betrothed couples who try to make their wedding ceremonies unique and unforgettable.

One of the new ideas which is gaining ground is the concept of having wedding ceremony fans – fans that can keep your guests cool and sweat-free while at the same time letting them know about your wedding program. Wedding ceremony fans are basically paper fans that your guests can flap with their hands to keep themselves cool, especially if your wedding ceremony takes place during warm weather or if it is conducted outdoors.

They can be customized and made available in variety of papers and colors. You can also design them in accordance with your wedding theme. In addition, you can print pictures or photographs on these fans. But remember to choose a lighter color when choosing to print photos, because on papers of darker colors, it may not be possible to print pictures.

Many people wonder, how can we have a great reception without overspending? The answer is to be both creative and realistic. One place to start is with the number of guests. Another is the location. Look into having your reception at a local park, a private home, a museum or historic building.

Wedding Floral Arrangements

September 13, 2009

Nowadays weddings are never that beautiful or memorable without the flowers that most people look forward to. Flowers make weddings seem more magical and fantastic. So it’s no wonder that almost all weddings have to have flowers. The difficult part about having flowers on your wedding is about deciding which flowers would be perfect and which would suit your taste best.

You’ll have to decide whether or not to have real or silk flowers, you’ll have to imagine which colors would be just right to go with your wedding’s motif, and of course you’ll have to plan how they’ll be arranged on your wedding day. To choose between real flowers or silk flowers, there are things which you need to consider.

One is your budget, when contemplating on real flowers you’ll have to remember that it would be more expensive than silk, one consolation though is that if you choose flowers which are on season on your wedding date, you’ll probably buy them at a cheaper price. Real flowers do not last for a long time, eventually they wither and die unlike the silk flowers which can undoubtedly last for the longest time and can already be a souvenir from your wedding.

Planning a wedding can be very costly if you don’t know how to budget your money correctly. You could end up in debt. You should always keep an eye on your finances and sacrifice things that you might not need for that special wedding day.

Wedding Party Favors – Don’t Forget About Them

August 30, 2009

One of the important steps in wedding planning is preparing favors for the wedding guests. Many couples wish to thank their guests for attending their event by presenting them with special mementoes of the occasion.

Artistic, thoughtful brides and grooms can even make their own wedding favors. The personal style of the bride and groom, the budget for the wedding, and, if applicable, the theme of the event should all be taken into consideration when choosing favors. Perhaps a useful gift that can be taken home will be most welcome, or a special food that represents the locale of the wedding or a special memory of the couple. Where can you find special favors? Local bridal gift shops are one place to look.

Online sites also provide many options at competitive prices that could be the perfect memento for a special day. Custom-making favors is also an option. Travel, beach, formal and non-formal weddings can all be commemorated with appropriate favors; for instance, a beach-themed wedding favor might incorporate found seashells, stones or even beach sand.

Wedding Reception Locations – What Are Your Options?

July 29, 2009

After the solemnity of the wedding, you and your new spouse will want to join your guests and celebrate your new marriage. Your guests will want to greet you and offer you good wishes. All of you will want a place to eat, drink, dance and enjoy each other. A wedding reception is just the place to do all these things.

There are a wide variety of locations available for a wedding reception. You can have the reception in the same location as the wedding (as in the fellowship hall of the church), or you can branch out and have it at a different locale. Often the reception reflects the spirit or theme of the wedding itself. It will all depend on your personal preference.

The location of your reception will also depend on any budgetary constraints you have. Receptions can be held in locations as varied as outdoor parks, cruise ships, favorite restaurants, and clubs. If you are fortunate enough to live in a city with some interesting historical sites, that will give you another option for hosting your reception.

Having A Western Wedding

July 19, 2009

Brides and grooms should saddle up their horses for a Western wedding. Nothing can be more fun than a wedding with a Western theme. Maybe you can have horses for the bride and groom to ride off into the sunset. Or at least a horse and carriage for the happy couple.

Or, have the horses bring you to the wedding rehearsal dinner. Get out the cowboy hats and make your tables look cowboy fancy. Get little cowboy hats, boots, bandanas and more to decorate your tables. You can give out western favors to your guests. Imagine cowboy hats for your groomsmen and bridesmaids.

After all, cowboy hats come in all kinds of colors and sizes these days. Too expensive? Some places offer engraving on pewter shot glasses, beer steins or “eating troughs” (bowls). Purchase flasks and have them engraved. Make sure you refer to them as canteens when you give them to your wedding party. Give all of your groomsmen a Western tie and have it be part of the wedding attire. For your bridesmaid, turquoise and silver jewelry is associated with the west and might be used with their dresses on the wedding day. After dinner, you could gather around a campfire.

Wedding Colors – What To Choose From

July 15, 2009

When it comes to having your dream wedding, the color-scheme can be an important factor. When celebrating a ceremony for a couple, there are numerous decisions to make such as the types of flowers, decorations, centerpieces right down to the color of the table linen. The colors chosen for a wedding can make a world of difference of the “feel” of the wedding and how it is presented.

While there is no color that can’t be used in a wedding, putting the colors together to get an attractive wedding color scheme can be more difficult than you may think. Choosing colors for your wedding that are of various hues can help to avoid colors that are too similar clashing together.

Wedding Colors – Greens

For the summer time, a green color scheme can be presented to give a relaxing atmosphere. When choosing a green palette, avoid similar green shades such as a forest green and pastel green. As a better alternative, choose your favorite green with paler shades such as white, pink or silver. This will allow your green to stand out.
