Many brides choose to have a Spring or Summer Wedding. Once the decision on the date has been made, there are many other decisions to be made. In picking a theme for a wedding, consideration of the time of year can enter into the decision.
For a Spring or Summer wedding, what could be more appropriate than butterflies? They are colorful, beautiful and one of nature’s grandest creations. There are so many options from which to pick from when butterflies are used for your theme. Butterflies combine beautifully with colorful Spring or Summer Flowers and artificial butterflies could be incorporated into the floral decorations.
There are many items available at craft stores that incorporate the use of butterflies. Favors for the wedding guests could be made from some of these items. Scented candles with a butterfly motif could be used as favors or in table decorations for the reception. Butterflies could also be printed on the wedding invitation and on the napkins used at the reception. Another decision to make is what type of wedding cake to have.
In addition to deciding what flavor, what type of icing and how many people it needs to serve, a decorating theme for the cake needs to be chosen. What could be more beautiful than a cake decorated with colorful flowers interlaced with butterflies? This would be a reminder of the beauty of nature during Spring or Summer.
Also, some of the other food to be served at the reception could continue with then butterfly theme such as cookies cut in the shape of butterflies and decorated with colorful icing. Also, candy could be molded into a butterfly shape and also decorated with bright colors. Finally, it is traditional at most weddings to see the bride and groom off in some way such as tossing rice or releasing doves to fly away to the sky.
Releasing many butterflies would complete the theme for the wedding in a beautiful way while reminding guests of the quietness and beauty of nature. When the honeymoon is over, it is time to write thank you notes for all of those gifts you received. Thank you notes printed with the same butterfly motif used at the wedding would be a great way to complete your successful event.
