Picking Out A Wedding Cake Topper

January 31, 2010

Do you want to turn your wedding cake into an eye-popping celebratory confection? Usually, wedding cakes are an integral element of the wedding reception’s unique décor. It may be the head table’s centerpiece. Wherever the cake is, it will definitely play a central role and communicate design focus for your wedding.

Thus, it is reasonable to make an effort at procuring an unforgettable cake topper. Humorous wedding cake toppers can be amazing conversation starters for all those shy guests at the wedding reception. Often, wedding receptions force long-lost (possibly deliberately lost) friends, distant family and lots of other people in your life to mingle socially, and it may be hard for them to enjoy themselves.

Obviously, many of these guests do not communicate regularly if at all, and the conversation can be stale or simply non-existent. Why not use a funny wedding cake topper to get the juices flowing and break the ice?

Where To Find Funny Wedding Cake Toppers

There are multitudes of cake toppers to pick from and probably just as many places to buy them. If you can, a quick and easy method is to purchase one from the baker who created your cake. Be careful, though—their selection might be less than extensive. Don’t settle for something that is not what you want. If the baker is a bust, try online. You can browse websites devoted to unique wedding decorations or try your luck on eBay. Some online companies now even design custom wedding cake toppers according to your specifications.

Wedding Reception Songs – All The Factors Involved

January 28, 2010

Every couple has their own perception of what is good dance music. At the wedding reception each couple wants to hear music they like, but it’s also important to choose music that everyone likes.

People expect to have a great time at the wedding reception, and it is always an important goal of the bride and groom to provide attendees with an enjoyable experience.

Suggestions, Anyone?

First things first. The worst party situation is one where no one is dancing. To avoid this, it is imperative that couples provide upbeat music that will get guests on the dance floor.

There are some old standards that without contest are crowd favorites. These may include “Don’t Stop til You Get Enough”, or even “Time Will Reveal”. There are even songs that seemingly propel guests out of their seats. Example include “the chicken dance” “YMCA” and the “Macarena”.

The above examples are types of songs that have to be played in order for people of different backgrounds to come together and have a good time!

The Essence Of A Great Wedding Invitation

January 25, 2010

Besides the photos and the memories themselves, the one thing you and your groom will always have from your wedding day is the invitation. In fact, it is probably the best souvenir that any of your guests can save from the event.

Done well, it can be in itself a work of art and a piece of memorabilia. Your wedding probably has a theme, and the invitation is the perfect place to reflect that theme. Whether the theme is beach or fairy tale or a European odyssey, there is a way to personalize your invitation so that everyone has an inkling of what to expect and can look forward to your big day with anticipation. Some people go to traditional printers and engravers, while others savvy enough on the computer may want to print their invitations themselves.

In either case, there must be good taste and common sense used. A wedding is an occasion that should have class and not be crass. Therefore, you may want to think of a slogan for your wedding, related to the theme that appears on the invitations; but it should never demean or offend anyone or insult the institution of marriage.

Wedding Reception Flowers – Set The Perfect Mood

January 21, 2010

The particulars of your wedding, as personal as they are, will be expressed within the paramaters of the whole setting. You will have established an atmosphere, an environment in which beautiful things will happen and loving expressions will be exchanged.

The specifics will show up more clearly within this larger setting. Flowers are a very important way in which you will set the context of your wedding day. They will certainly frame you and the dress you have so carefully chosen. It’s probably best that first of all you set a theme for the wedding.

This is usually one theme that runs through the entire day, but there can even be two themes–one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Perhaps these themes will complement each other, such as an island feel to the flowers at the ceremony and the feel of a particular destination, such as Hawaii, at the reception.

It is possible to fall in love with specific flowers and, having found them, decide on the theme of the wedding based on their colors and places of origin. Often, however, this will just be confusing and lead to a hodge podge of ideas with which you ultimately will not be satisfied. You don’t want to have to compromise your vision for the dream wedding day, so, if possible, decide on the main theme first.

Christmas Wedding Favors – The Magic Of The Holiday Season

January 17, 2010

All weddings are perfect in their own way, and any season can provide a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, but there is something special about a winter wedding during the holidays. So many people opt for sun and blue skies, but a couple that chooses the colder, darker days of the end of the year is showing a kind of confidence, a belief that their love is warm enough to illuminate the shortest days of the year.

These couples have an eye for beauty that doesn’t stop at the easy green and color of warm summer days, but extends to the brilliance of snow and hard icicles, of candlelight and close quarters. The winter holidays are already redolent of festivity and family gatherings, and they are packed with traditions and symbols that naturally invite themselves into the rituals of the wedding.

From the invitations to the cake, to the décor of the reception hall and the fabric of the gown, the season can find expression, and as it is the season of giving, the little wedding favors of the bride and groom gain added significance. What better opportunity to show your love and appreciation of your guests, your dearest family and friends, and to share in this season of giving, than to give away little favors that reflect this spirit?

Why Wedding Programs Are So Important

January 14, 2010

More couples are having wedding programs along with their nuptials. It could be something wonderful to inform your guests about what is going to happen in your wedding, and make them acquainted with your wedding party also.

If you decide to make a wedding program, there are several general things you have to be aware of… The first thing to do is to make your plans early – very early! I can’t say enough about how many brides choose to assemble their wedding programs by themselves and take all night long before the wedding working in a frenzy trying to put it together.

And don’t even think about asking the groom to help – do you know any man who can tie a beautiful bow? Either get your programs already made from a printing company (expensive, of course), or schedule a time to do it personally at least several weeks before your nuptials. There are various things you will desire to have in your wedding program.

January 10, 2010

There are many good reasons to have weddings in summer. Summer is usually associated with fun. People enjoy warm, sunny days and therefore summer weddings are a good way to bring out the spirit of playfulness and merriment in them.

An outdoor wedding on a beach is a lovely way to start your life as a couple. Summer is a great time for outdoor weddings like beach weddings as there is a lot less chance of showers or cold winds ruining your wedding celebrations. Beach wedding favors are a wonderful way to thank your guests for attending your wedding.

They come in different themes and styles to match any theme of décor and definitely make for great celebration. Things like ‘Butterfly Tea Light in a garden theme box’ or miniature ‘Aloha soap’ can brighten up a table. Glass candle holders or “Sea Animal’ spice up the décor and also make great gifts. Sizes will vary between the individual designers, so before deciding on your dress, make sure to measure yourself as accurately as you can, then you can more correctly determine your specific size for each designer. Each designer has a published size chart that you can easily search for online. If you have questions, most designers have boutiques or they sell gowns in department stores.

Deciding On A Hawaii Wedding – What Are Your Choices?

January 3, 2010

As you plan your Hawaiian wedding one of the most important things to consider is your location. Hawaii and its surrounding islands are known for their beaches and sunsets, but those aren’t the only choices available. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life.

That being the case it behooves you to sit down and think about how you want your day to be. What are you looking for in a wedding ceremony? Are you a no frills, no fuss type of person? Do you want all the pomp and circumstance possible for this once in a lifetime moment? Or do you want something a little in between? Think on these things and then think about Hawaii’s many locations, which ones fit what you’re looking for best?

The Hawaii Volcano National Park is perfect for those who want to marry in the splendor and majesty of nature at its most wild and dangerous. Lava tubes and jungle growth give the element of barely contained nature, while black cooled lava flows add a pure and bare background. For those who want their ceremony to be a bit more Zen the Iao Valley Sate Park is an excellent option.
